Blue Pottoka Route

A signposted route that crosses mountain landscapes and livestock areas where it is common to see Pottokas (native horses). It is a varied and very scenic route, with forest sections and clearings that allow you to enjoy the landscape.

The Blue Pottoka Route is a family-friendly and very special route that allows you to discover one of the most beloved symbols of the Baztan Valley: the Pottoka, the small native horse of the Pyrenees.

It is an easy and well-marked route, ideal to do with children, which runs through meadows, forests and rural landscapes where it is common to see Pottokas grazing freely. A route designed to be enjoyed at a relaxed pace, to learn about the surroundings and to connect with nature in a fun way.
